Why us?

The combined strength of Monfils Pictures and Ki Ora NZ Limited means we understand safety in the world of film and production. Our promise is to provide a service that is seamless and professional.

How, when and what?

All projects to be assessed individually. Post recce or production meeting, we will deliver a full risk assessment. The delivery timeframe and complexity of each assessment depends on the scope of your production. Upon assessment of your production, additional advice may need to be sourced from individual departments and specialists - like stunts and/or pyrotechnics.

Who?

The department is led by Deon Nathan. Deon is a qualified anthropometric analyst for the Defence Technology Agency. He has a Bachelor in Health Science and 20 years’ experience as a Health & Safety Officer. Responsible for preventing accidents and injuries in the workplace, Deon ensures a healthy, safe and secure environment to work in both physically and mentally.

Providing control measures to eliminate and manage risk on set (location or studio) is paramount to any production and his knowledge and experience sets him apart. Deon has worked with stunt professionals and athletes with a background in strength and conditioning for the Sport New Zealand, New Zealand Rugby and Rugby League high performance teams.

Drop Deon an email at deon@monfilspictures.com for any enquiries.

“Deon is awesome! Knowing that he is looking out for everyone makes my job so much easier. He is professional, practical, well qualified, and with a wonderful calm and positive attitude. He comes well equipped with all the safety gear. He’s hands on, and actively helps out where help is needed. He’s simply the best health and safety person to have on the team and the crew love him!”
